Our History

Granite Borders Landcare was established in 1995, and became incorporated in 1997 in response to the community's desire to coordinate Landcare activities across the Tenterfield (NSW) and Stanthorpe (QLD) districts. Granite Borders Landcare Committee (GBLC) is a cross-border, cross-catchment umbrella group representing many Landcare members and groups with a diverse range of interests including organic food production, grazing, cropping, dung beetles, weed and pest eradication and revegetation to enhance native habitat.

GBLC covers the large and varied landscapes of three local government areas; Tenterfield Shire Council (NSW), Southern Downs Regional Council (QLD) and Glen Innes Severn Shire Council (NSW). Our organisation is supported by the Northern Tablelands Local Land Services and Tenterfield Shire Council.
