Northern Tablelands Local Land Service (NT LLS) and Granite Borders Landcare Committee (GBLC) have been working towards delivering Mulloon Institute landscape rehydration and regeneration offerings to landholders, graziers/farmers in Tenterfield.

This includes a Field Day workshop and/ or a 2 Day Boot Camp practical event. We want to know if you would be interested in having this in Tenterfield.

What are the Mulloon Institute Landscape Rehydration and Regeneration Learning Programs?

Mulloon Institute is supported by the NSW govt. Environmental Trust and have delivered a number of field days with Gwymac Landcare in Inverell with much success.

However, this is a major investment, so we need to get numbers of people interested in either offering, with a minimum of 15 needed for each option.

So, what are the two options - and can we opt for both??

1. The Field Day

The Mulloon Institute introductory Field Day is a great way for participants to gain a functional understanding of a farm's water cycle and our approach to rehydrating rural landscapes. Participants will learn how to identify processes that are influenced by a farm's geological and hydrological features and diagnose the health of a landscape. The field day explores a range of scientifically grounded tactics and strategies - including natural structures - that can restore and optimise a farm's water cycle.

LLS and GBLC can bring this to Landholders with a nominal fee to ensure participation, provided we have a minimum number of 15 participants. The objective would be to deliver this between August 2025 - October 2025.

2. The 2 Day Boot Camp

The Bootcamp is the flagship event of the Mulloon Institute. This immersive, dynamic and interactive course combines theory with practical application, empowering landholders with skills and confidence to implement a landscape rehydration project of your own. The Bootcamp is about practicing skills in a peer-led learning process, learning to read and assess water cycle health at property scale, prioritise issues, investigate a variety of practical landscape rehydration strategies and tactics to apply to your property, and develop knowledge and skills in hydrological calculations.

If there is sufficient interest for deeper learning and more practical skills, we are considering offering the 2-day 'Boot Camp' option, early next year, potentially for February 2026 - April 2026. This will be heavily subsidised, but will nevertheless attract a fee of up to $300 per participant.

Yes, you can opt to do both, but first, please take the time to let us know you are interested.

Please complete an Expression of Interest form, indicating your interest in either/ both options, and let us know if you would be willing to host the Mulloon Institute on your property.
