Wattle Day Celebrations

2nd Sep 2026

One of our most successful events is Wattle Day. This year, we will revisit Tenterfield Park and offer guided Wattle identification walks, which was a big success last year.

Meet your tour guides:

  1. Sarah Caldwell - Mole Station Native Nursery consultant, Sarah has over 40 years cultivating local native species and providing these across the Northern Tablelands and beyond. She has always been generous in sharing her expertise in plant knowledge.

  2. Dr Andrew Pengelly - Andrew is a member of Stanthorpe Rare Wildflower Consortium. He completed research on native plants at the University of Newcastle and has been a Lecturer on medical plants and ethnobotany.

This event will include guided Wattle identification, which was a big success last year. We will picnic in the park afterwards, with catering to be supplied by the Country Women’s Association of Tenterfield.
