Tenterfield Naturalists Partnership - Fire to Flourish
Tenterfield Naturalist Partnership was a Fire to Flourish project, that funded upgrades to Tenterfield Park and the purchase of a community Hollow Hog builder.
The projectcleaned up fire hazards in the Tenterfield Bird Park & Wildlife refuge (large dead trees and woody weeds), and to improved water access to the park (sealing the water ponds and working with Tenterfield Shhire Council to have the water tap fixed). The Tenterfield Naturalist volunteer base was supported with a practical workshop on the wildlife habitat building tool, HollowHog, with the broader community. The tool was later purchased by the group through the funding for this project - it remains a valuable community resource. Outcomes include the strengthening of relationships and visibility with council, community education fostering respect for & greater connection to the natural environment with anticipated benefits to community health.
