Repair, Recycle & Upcycle - FREE workshop
Learn practical skills. Reduce waste. Connect with your community.
Caught your favourite jeans on a barbed wire fence or have a shirt tucked away that deserves a second chance? Or perhaps you'd like to try the creative art of eco-printing and natural dyeing?
Join Granite Borders Landcare and local artisans from MAKE IT Tenterfield (Kay and Marie) for a fun, hands-on workshop exploring practical and creative ways to repair, refresh and transform clothing you already own.
Choose a workshop from either session or one from BOTH:
1) Repair, Don't Replace – Upcycle & Add a Little Bling
* Learn simple sewing and repair skills, refresh tired garments and discover how to turn those rips and tears into something unique.
2) Connecting Nature Through Creativity – Natural Dyeing & Eco Printing
* Explore eco-printing using leaves, plants and botanicals and transform a plain, light-coloured cotton T-shirt or fabric item into a one-of-a-kind piece to take home.
Why does it matter?
Australians discard more than 200,000 tonnes of clothing each year. Repairing, reusing and upcycling what we already own helps reduce textile waste, conserve resources and keep clothing in use for longer.
Please bring along a garment to repair or a light-coloured cotton T-shirt/fabric item for eco-printing, depending on your chosen workshop.
