Landscape Rehydration Program with the Mullon Institute and LLS

31st Jan 2026

Mulloon Institute Landscape Rehydration series | Field Day and Bootcamp

The Introductory Landscape Rehydration Introductory Field Day was well attended and gave our community the chance to learn deep knowledge about the principles of small water cycles, the roles of plants in healthy soils and biodiversity, how forces like the sun and gravity can be contribute to erosion, alluvial shift, plant energy conversion, soil function and water rehydration across the landscape.

The Bootcamp was three full days of hands-on learning, including: mapping, imagining, laughing, designing, testing, surveying, building and getting stuff done as teams. Well done to everyone who gave it everything to grow together!

Participants pitched in and designed a gully erosion amelioration strategy in situ, based on many of the tactical approaches learnt throughout the week.

There is strong interest in the 1:1 Mentoring Program and we look forward to bringing the benefits of that on at the small, and cultivating that across the broader landscape in time.

Thanks to the brilliant Mulloon Institute Landscape Rehydration team: Erin, Annabel, Brooke, Matt; with much appreciation to the Northern Tablelands Local Land Services team: Andrew and Phoebe. Thanks also to Ian, Sandra and Roberta for volunteering our demonstration site.
