GBLC End of Year Christmas Party

This years' Members Christmas Party and General Meeting is being held at Tenterfield Golf Club (288 Pelham St, Tenterfield NSW 2372).

There will be a guest speaker, dinner and an opportunity to catch up with fellow members and friends.

A General Meeting will be held prior from 4.30pm* (*NSW time)

Come and join us on Wednesday the of 4th December from 4.30pm* 9.00pm * (*NSW time). Hear from what our Landcare groups have been up to this past year as we celebrate Christmas together.

The special Guest Speaker will be Associate Professor John T. Hunter (5.30pm-6.30pm). 

Topic Diversity: Temporal, Hidden, Dark 

(Adjunct Associate Professor - School of Environmental and Rural Science). Dr. John Hunter is a landscape ecologist whose major interests are teasing apart aspects of biodiversity, such as diversity measures and functional traits. He also has major research interests in vegetation classification. His current research focuses on both arid landscapes, wetland systems and coastal headlands. His publications topics are broad and include systematics, biomass, sociology and both flora and fauna but usually in some way combine biogeographic aspects of diversity, climate, geographic range and functionality. He has conducted vegetation survey and mapping across the entirety of NSW and parts of Qld and placed over 25,000 survey sites. He has currently authored over 240 reports and publications of which 95 are peer-reviewed journal publications. He is an editor for international journals and committee member for various groups, including the international Vegetation Classification Working Group, the Northern Tablelands Regional Advisory Committee and the technical sub-committee for the Saving Our Species programs for the NSW Environmental Trust.
