Carbon Farming fundamentals and what's all this stuff about Natural Capital?

13th Aug 2024

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD, formerly the DPI) and Northern Tablelands Local Land Services (NT LLS) will be teaming up to discuss what’s involved in Carbon Farming and Natural Capital fundamentals.

This workshop will outline carbon farming fundamentals, as well as provide an introduction to natural capital, in order to help you understand links between natural capital and carbon farming and where they are more independent. The fundamentals of natural capital and carbon farming will help you navigate both challenges and opportunities in a more empowered way.

The new Local Land Services state-wide Natural Capital program will officially be launched in late July. This workshop will help you to understand what is meant by natural capital, and where it is and isn’t linked to carbon outcomes. The talk will cover why it is important to start understanding it, how it might relate to your own situation and how you might be able to benefit from opportunities relating to natural capital.

"We want to give farmers a clear view of where we are heading with carbon farming and their on-farm emissions and what it may mean for their farming enterprises."
