Committee Profile

Tina and her partner, Paul, bought their property at Woodside in 2021 as climate change refugees, seeking a more sustainable, climate-resilient and nature-connected way of life.

Over the past five years, Tina and Paul have been working to help their land regenerate, improve biodiversity and contribute in practical ways to the health of the local environment and the broader biosphere. Their property features off-grid power and water, and they’re using semi-permaculture principles, composting and soil-building methods, and growing their own fruit and vegetables.

Tina is currently halfway through a Diploma of Sustainable Living at the University of Tasmania, further developing her knowledge of sustainability, ecological systems, food production, and climate change.

Professionally, Tina has experience in mental health, education, training and assessment, including work as an Independent Assessor. She also brings committee and community-sector experience, including managing a national community services company and previous voluntary leadership as Committee President and Committee Member for other groups in Queensland and NSW. These roles have developed her skills in communication, administration, governance, collaboration and supporting community-based organisations.

Tina has a strong interest in land regeneration, biodiversity, sustainable living, community resilience and practical local responses to climate change. Through her involvement with Granite Borders Landcare, she looks forward to continuing to learn, contributing to local Landcare projects, and supporting others who are working to care for, protect and restore the natural environment.
