About the Cool Country Koala Project:

The Cool Country Koala Project is mapping koala presence using a detection dog! The Tenterfield area has lots of key koala habitat, including pathways between important protected bushland patches for our koalas! To help us protect and enhance this habitat we need to have a better idea of where they live...and we'd love you to help us.

At the workshop you will:

  • learn about koalas, their ecology and habitat
  • meet Baxter the detection dog and see him in action
  • learn how best to spot and record koala sightings
  • ... and hear about a very special critically endangered bird in your area
