BACK FROM THE BRINK
A Field Day with Peter Andrews
Saturday 1st March 2008 - 9.30am to 3.30pm
Join us at Danthonia with Peter Andrews to discover an alternative approach to Sustainable Land Management - Natural Sequence Farming!
Why Natural Sequence Farming?
Peter Andrews, author, grazier and horse stud breeder from Bylong in the Upper Hunter, will outline and demonstrate his concept of Natural Sequence Farming, derived from years of hands-on trial and error. This holistic land management process specifi cally addresses land degradation and biodiversity losses in riparian systems and their disconnected fl ood plains and valley slopes. His recent bestseller Back from the Brink is available at all ABC bookshops.
Peter?s ideas for the future of farming and land use in Australia give an alternative approach to our conventional methods of management. This day will undoubtedly initiate an ongoing dialogue among farmers and land managers as we grapple with climate change and the host of challenges that confront us.
Granite Borders Landcare will organise a bus if sufficient numbers wish to attend. The bus would depart Stanthorpe at approx 5.30am (QLD time), Tenterfield at 7.15am (NSW time), Deepwater at 7.45am and Glen Innes at 8.15am. For more information please contact the Landcare Office on 02 67363500 or email enquiries@graniteborderslandcare.com.au
